Wakefield High Alumna Maggie Kane opened A Place at the Table cafe January 2018, at 300 W. Hargett St. in downtown Raleigh NC. A Place at the Table is a restaurant where customers can either pay the suggested price on the menu, or pay what they can, with a minimum of three dollars per meal, or volunteer for food.
Kane created this restaurant to welcome all.
