First Alert Forecast: sharply colder changes in the short term, long term

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) – Wilmington’s March 11 record high of 86, set ten years ago, will be challenged Wednesday… but changes are coming soon. Thursday will have a risk of cold frontal showers and stray storms, especially between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m… which is a bit earlier than previous thinking. Brace for a brief but sharp stab of cold to follow this front with temps dipping below 40 and wind chills sinking to near 30 around daybreak Friday… the lowest in over ten days.

Another cold snap… perhaps near a freeze… will move in St. Patrick’s Day.
