The Big Story

Days after the death of Forsyth County Sheriff’s Deputy Kaleb Mitchell, his brother Jordan is reflecting on the 24-year-old’s legacy.

The pair worked alongside each other at the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office after growing up in Stokes County. Jordan Mitchell says his brother always felt a calling to work in law enforcement. It started when they were young.

“Our grandfather used to watch ‘The Andy Griffith Show’ all the time,” Mitchell said. “We always [said] we wanted to run a two-man car, me and him like Andy and Barney. That was our biggest thing.”
