36 Grocery Outlet stores closing across 6 states, listing shows

(WHTM) — Real estate records appear to show which locations a national grocery store chain is preparing to close.

Last week, Grocery Outlet Bargain Market President and CEO Jason Potter said the company would close 36 locations as part of an “optimization and restructuring plan.” The impacted stores were deemed to be “financially underperforming,” Potter said in a press release.

While Grocery Outlet saw net sales increase during the last quarter, up nearly 11% over the same time period in fiscal year 2024, it recorded an operating loss of $234.8 million. Potter also pointed to increased consumer pressure and competition, as well as a delay in federally funded benefits (disruptions to SNAP benefits amid the long-running government shutdown happened during Q4)…
