Albuquerque school installs book vending machine; rewards student’s good behavior

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque elementary school is celebrating positive behavior and encouraging students to read by installing a book vending machine.

Students at Pajarito Elementary School can earn tokens for the machine by exhibiting good behavior, according to the school.

Academy girls shine against Shiprock

Any staff member can give SOAR tickets to students who show good behavior. Those tickets can then be entered into a raffle every Friday, and the winner will receive a token for the book machine. The student will then choose a book to take home.

SOAR stands for:

  • S – Safety
  • O – Ownership
  • A – Achievement
  • R – Respect
