LOVELAND, Colo. — A Narcan (naloxone) kiosk was installed just outside of the Loveland Police Department, giving community members free access to the medication that can reverse opioid overdoses.
Since its installation a few months ago, the kiosk has distributed hundreds of Narcan applicators, LPD said. The program is funded through opioid settlement dollars.
“Opioid overdoses and accidental exposures can happen quickly, and the first person on scene is often not a police officer or paramedic,” the police department said in a Facebook post. “By making Narcan available to the public, our community gains another life-saving resource before first responders arrive.”…
