SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Homelessness in Sioux Falls has decreased for the first time in five years.
At the City of Sioux Falls media briefing, Michelle Treasure, the city’s Homelessness Services Coordinator, announced Sioux Falls has seen a decrease in homelessness in 2026.
SF City Councilors voice support for Smithfield TIF
In 2026, there was a total of 605 homeless, 562 being sheltered and 43 being unsheltered. In 2025, there was a total of 625 homeless, 565 sheltered and 60 unsheltered.
The homeless count happens on one night in the last 10 days of January annually.
