ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) – In a letter, the Asheville mayor urged Costco to reconsider withdrawing its application for a proposed Asheville development and to re-engage with the city to move the project forward.
“I was disappointed to learn of your decision to withdraw the application for the proposed Costco development in Asheville. I am writing to personally invite Costco to re-engage with the City of Asheville so that we may work together to move this important project forward,” said Mayor Ester Manheimer.
She said a meeting with the property sellers, NCDOT, and city planning staff identified a viable path to address remaining transportation and site issues, noting the project is a conditional zoning application ultimately decided by the city council…
