U.S. Sen. Katie Britt said she’s working to make sure the Birmingham-Southern College campus is updated and will be ready to welcome the U.S. Coast Guard’s new training facility.
The actual transaction still needs to be finalized, but the Coast Guard could have people in Birmingham and central Alabama as early as the fall of 2026.
