Former WPD officer pleads guilty, other officer set to face trial for on-duty incident

WAYNESBORO, Va. (WHSV) – Two Waynesboro police officers are heading through the legal system after an alleged incident involving an officer’s disarmed stun gun, which was then used against the victim.

Joseph Meadows, a former Waynesboro Police officer, pleaded guilty to a disarming an officer charge after accepting a plea deal.

According to the plea deal, Meadows’ charge will be under advisement for three years. If Meadows stays out of legal trouble, the disarming charge will be reduced to an obstruction of justice misdemeanor. If the charge stood as it is now, it is a class 6 felony…
