A routine midday ride on a northbound B61 in Carroll Gardens turned violent when a 78-year-old passenger was beaten on board, and police say they are still hunting for the attacker. Detectives on Tuesday released photos of a man they believe carried out the Feb. 21 assault near Court Street and West Ninth Street at about 12:35 p.m. Medics took the victim to Methodist Hospital in stable condition after he was struck multiple times, officials said. The assailant got off the bus and fled on foot, and investigators are now asking the public to help put a name to the face in the images.
