AKRON, Ohio — A quarter million dollars on home renovations, a half-million to his daughter’s now-defunct restaurant, $71,500 on auto detailing and more than $450,000 in credit card bills are among the sums a late, disgraced former Ohio utilities regulator is accused of dropping on a life of luxury.
The expenses were detailed Wednesday during the trial of FirstEnergy ex-CEO Charles Jones and ex-Senior Vice President Michael Dowling, who are accused of facilitating a $4.3 million bribe to the former regulator, Sam Randazzo.
