COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Happy Wednesday! While it has been a pleasant day so far, we are keeping our eyes on a system moving in tonight.
WEATHER AWARE: We are Weather Aware tonight and Thursday morning for the threat of severe weather.
- Timing: Storms are on track to enter east Alabama by 2 AM CT/3 AM ET. Columbus will likely see storms by 5 AM ET, and then the line will clear our Georgia counties by 9 AM ET.
- Threats: Our main threat is going to be damaging winds anywhere along the line, up to 60 mph. However, we are not ruling out a brief tornado.
- Risk Level: The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has placed all of our Alabama counties under a level 2/5 risk. This could be expanded further tonight.
Rest of the Week: Once the front clears tomorrow morning, the rest of the day is set to be cool and windy. Highs will only get into the mid-60s!
Highs will rebound to 80 degrees by the weekend thanks to the sunshine. Our next front is set to arrive Sunday night/Monday morning. This front will have a lot more cold air behind it. We are talking mornings in the 30s on Tuesday and Wednesday! Highs will sit in the 50s on Tuesday with clear skies…
