YORK COUNTY, Pa. — The Wallace Cross Mill in East Hopewell Township, York County has stood for 200 years.
Experts with the York County History Center announced a special event in celebration of the Mill’s contributions to the agricultural community.
“Alexander Wallace built the Mill and the house on the hill in 1826 for milling grain. It was set up as a vertical sawmill powered by water to cut the framework and build the mill here, so it’s been milling ever since 1826 with two families, the Wallace’s and the Cross’,” explained Duane Hyson…
