A labor union representing former employees of Heights University Hospital has filed a lawsuit against the city hospital and its owner Hudson Regional Health, saying the company violated worker protection laws when mass layoffs occurred in the fall of 2025, documents show.
In the suit, labor union District II99J says the company violated the New Jersey WARN Act when they terminated 37 employees on Oct. 24, 2025, and another 92 employees on Nov. 14, 2025.
