KALAMAZOO, MI — Firefighters used over a million gallons of water to put out a blaze at a metal recycling facility, the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety said.
The fire started in an exterior pile of material around 7:37 p.m. Monday, March 9, at Kalamazoo Metal Recyclers, 1525 Lake St., KDPS said.
Fire crews began suppression efforts immediately and worked through the night to contain the blaze.
The fire was brought under control by approximately 4 a.m., after crews used more than a million gallons of water to suppress the flames, KDPS said…
