Co-defendants to testify in trial for teen charged with killing Kalamazoo security guard

KALAMAZOO, MI — The murder case against a 19-year-old man charged with killing a security guard outside a Kalamazoo nightclub last April got underway Tuesday, March 10.

Kaiden Tanner Cole, of Battle Creek, is charged with open murder, carrying a concealed weapon and felony firearms in the April 12, 2025, killing of Montine “Mizzle” Wiley Jr.

Wiley, 27, had been working security for a private event that was being hosted at Green Door Distilling Co. in Kalamazoo when the fatal shooting occurred.
