KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Bassmaster Classic is returning to Knoxville for the third time this weekend. The last time the fishing tournament was held in Knoxville was in 2023. On Wednesday, 6 News spoke with a few professional anglers who have competed in past Bassmaster Classics.
Robert Gee, Carl Jocumsen and Ish Monroe all agree on one thing: East Tennessee is the place to be for bass fishing.
“The Tennessee River is very diverse,” Gee said. “We’ve got a very long stretch of river here. We’ve got two lakes, Fort Loudoun and then Tellico Lake.”
