MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman shot Monday in a deadly interstate shooting is out of the hospital recovering from a gunshot wound to her shoulder and cuts to her hand.
The victim, who did not wish to be identified, was Southbound on I-55 toward E. Shelby Drive, headed to work, when she heard gunfire and then the sound of bullets piercing the driver’s side window of her black Chevy Malibu.
A friend was driving, and the victim was in the passenger seat, when she was hit in her left shoulder. She didn’t realize she had been hit until she saw the blood and immediately called her mom.
“She said Mama, I’ve been shot. I said what? I looked, and it was 6:15 in the morning. You got shot? She said, yeah, I don’t know. Then she hung up because she said the police were there,” said Ruthie Naylor…
