NJ faces isolated severe weather threat — and tomorrow, we may see some snow

We’re holding onto that unseasonably mild, warm air again on Wednesday, but we’ll see more clouds building, especially later in the day as rain chances increase.

By Wednesday night into Thursday, we’re dealing with a stronger frontal system. Showers become likely, and there is a mention of isolated thunderstorms — plus a low-end, isolated severe risk that can’t be ruled out, with central and southern New Jersey most likely to see the best setup for those conditions.

Damaging straight-line winds and small hail are the primary threats there.

On Thursday, you’ll notice the change: Winds turn, and cooler air pushes in behind the front. Showers feature for most of the day — at first, in the form of rain, then possibly mixing with and changing to snow during the afternoon. If any snow does fall, it won’t stick. It’ll melt immediately.
