The incident took place on the evening of January 31, 2026, along Interstate 24 in Davidson County, near Nashville. According to the official THP report, the trooper had just pulled over a Dodge Challenger that was caught flying down the highway at 97 mph in a 70 mph zone. The dashcam footage shows the trooper standing outside the driver’s side window of the Challenger, speaking with the driver while snow and ice still visibly line the shoulders of the road.

Suddenly, the situation goes completely sideways. Without warning, a white pickup truck violently slams into the rear of the parked THP cruiser at highway speed.
