Crews battle fire at home on Avenue C in Rochester, no injuries reported

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A house fire broke out in a vacant home on Avenue C near Hollenbeck Street in Rochester. The Rochester Fire Department (RFD) responded to the scene just after 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

Firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the attic of the home, which was being renovated. No injuries were reported, officials said.

The wind posed challenges by blowing debris around, but firefighters managed to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to nearby homes…
