During visit to Staten Island school, Mamdani touts 3‑K expansion as win for NYC

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Plans for expanded 3-K child care in New York City were officially unveiled Tuesday by Mayor Zohran Mamdani, during an appearance at the Richmond Pre-K Center in Graniteville.

“Today, I am proud to announce that we are expanding access to universal 3-K in 56 ZIP codes across the five boroughs,” said Mamdani, who was flanked by community stakeholders and students at the school.

“I want to thank Gov. (Kathy) Hochul for her continued partnership in this work,” Mamdani said. “This progress would not be possible without her leadership — and what progress it is.”…
