Specialty Asian tea house Noisy Crane opens in Tampa this week

Put your phone away, take a deep breath, and settle in for a cozy cup. Noisy Crane Tea, a tea house specializing in loose-leaf Asian brews, announced its grand opening this week, welcoming guests beginning this Thursday, March 12.

Noisy Crane has been a favorite for years, led by owner and self-proclaimed tea nerd KC Cavanaugh, who developed a devoted following in St. Pete. This new brick-and-mortar tea house is located at 213 S Howard Ave inside The Paper Seahorse, and it will be open every Thursday-Sunday from 10 am – 3 pm. Reservations are required on Saturday and Sunday, with walk-ins welcome on Thursday and Friday.

Before you go, you should know: this isn’t a drive-thru pitstop or mere money-for-liquid transaction. The Noisy Crane is a full sit-down, relaxing and friendly Asian tea experience. Drinks are not available to-go. Laptops are not allowed. Phones are discouraged, short of taking photos, of course. Cavanaugh wants people to enjoy “spending time with the tea, yourself, your friends, or an analog activity.”

Cavanaugh more than delivers on a product worth that much reverence. Noisy Crane works with small tea importers and hand-picks loose-leaf teas that are chosen “for flavor, flair, and a little bit of magic.” This isn’t Starbucks or a bag of Twinings. This is the real deal…
