ANN ARBOR, MI – One vehicle was destroyed and another was damaged Monday afternoon after a parked car caught fire.
Ann Arbor fire crews were called around 4:22 p.m. March 9 to the second floor of the Liberty Square parking structure at 510 E. Washington St., according to a release from the department.
A fire had started in the engine compartment of a parked car, reportedly due to a mechanical or electrical failure, officials said. The car, which was not an electric vehicle, had been parked for roughly 30 minutes and was off at the time of the fire, confirmed Mike Kennedy, chief of the Ann Arbor Fire Department.
