Pearl police recover $6,500 in stolen merchandise in retail theft investigation

PEARL – The Pearl Police Department recovered about $6,500 in stolen merchandise following an investigation into a retail theft ring targeting businesses in Pearl.

Officers first responded Feb. 6 at about 1 p.m. to a reported shoplifting at Ulta Beauty. By the time officers arrived, the suspects had left with merchandise valued at about $3,150, police said.

The department’s Criminal Investigations Division opened an investigation and identified two suspects as Aureka Ducksworth and Keanna Gordon. Investigators said a third person involved had not yet been identified at that time. Officers also identified a suspect vehicle by reviewing surveillance footage.

On March 8 at about 6 p.m., officers with the Patrol Division, Special Operations Division and Criminal Investigations Division received information that the group was again targeting retail stores in Pearl. Officers later found the suspect vehicle at the Outlets of Mississippi…
