Proper garbage can placement may seem like a small detail, but it plays an important role in keeping neighborhoods clean, safe and visually appealing. The City’s sanitation ordinance outlines a few simple guidelines that help collection run smoothly while maintaining community standards.

Garbage and refuse containers should be stored behind the front line of the home or building, so they are not visible from the street. The only time containers should be in view is when they are placed out for scheduled pickup.
