Houston, TX – Strong thunderstorms sweeping across Southeast Texas Wednesday could bring damaging wind gusts, torrential rain and isolated severe weather from College Station to Galveston, raising concerns for hazardous travel and localized flooding through the evening hours.
According to the National Weather Service in Houston/Galveston, a cold front moving through the region will trigger storms beginning late Wednesday morning, with the greatest intensity expected during the afternoon and early evening. Forecasters place much of the region, including College Station, Livingston and northern portions of the Houston metro, under a Slight Risk (Level 2 of 5) for severe storms.
