LUBBOCK, Texas — The Lubbock Community is so fortunate to have a remarkable woman that puts her community first. Danielle East is the founder and Executive Director of East Lubbock Art House. She hosts all kinds of programs, classes and workshops, all to share her love of art. From kids to adults, she shares any and all resources to help people learn to love the benefits of art.
East said, “There’s studies that show that being involved in the arts and having art in your community and your neighborhood improves your lifestyle, your health and wellness. It also improves the economic value of neighborhoods and communities, and people can see how it stops crime. It reduces crime. I think art is important for things like mental health and also like cognitive health.”

Like all women who are remarkable, Danielle said it’s not just her. “Sometimes like I don’t feel like I’m the person. I feel like after working with other remarkable people, there’s some people that I meet, especially the younger people and the elders in our community that are so awesome and they’re such an inspiration.”
She said you can help with all her good work for the community. They are always needing donations of art supplies, books and financial sponsorship. You can find the East Lubbock Art House at 405 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., or find them on Facebook here…
