Reno City Council discusses nonprofit registration fee for all organizations operating in city limits

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – On the City of Reno Council agenda for Wednesday March 11th is a potential ordinance change requiring nonprofits to register with the city.

Right now, nonprofits do not have to obtain a business license as they are already required to file annual registrations with the Nevada Secretary of State.

However the City of Reno says the registration could help provide better information about where nonprofits are operating, while also helping with safety reviews and land-use oversight…
