BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Birmingham area is now home to a Raising Cane’s location.
People packed out the shop along Highway 280 at the site of the former Lloyd’s Restaurant on Tuesday morning. Twenty lucky customers in line won free food from Cane’s for a year.

“We had people as early as 6:30 yesterday evening,” said restaurant leader Scott Dyer. “So they came out here, and they stayed out here in the weather with the thunderstorms last night and still were here this morning and had a great attitude and just ready for Cane’s to open.”
The location will be open seven days a week. It will operate from 10 a.m. to midnight Sundays through Thursdays and from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays…
