Rep. James Clyburn (S.C.), a longtime Democratic leader in the House, announced in Columbia, S.C., Thursday morning that he will seek reelection this year for an 18th term.
The 85-year-old stepped down from his post as assistant Democratic leader in 2024 and was replaced by Rep. Joe Neguse (D-Colo.). He had been the party’s whip until 2022.
