Baychester Block Horror as Bronx Girl, 14, Stabbed and Attacker Bolts

A quiet Baychester block turned into a crime scene Tuesday night after a 14-year-old girl was stabbed multiple times near the intersection of Tiemann and Hammersley avenues, police say. The teen suffered wounds to her head and torso just after 6 p.m., and a man dressed in all black allegedly fled the area as first responders rushed in.

According to News 12 New York, the girl was taken to a hospital, where officials described her condition as stable. The outlet reports that sources told investigators the victim has not been cooperating, which has left detectives with only limited details as they work to piece together how the attack unfolded.

Police temporarily shut down nearby streets while canvassing the surrounding blocks for evidence and witnesses. Those roadways have since reopened, but the suspect remains at large as officers continue to patrol the neighborhood.
