The Marion County Board of County Commissioners will consider final approval of a rezoning request that would clear the way for a new, 176-home development next to Lake Weir High School.
The board will cast a final vote on Tuesday, March 17, regarding a proposal to build Oak Shores Estates, a 176 single-family-home community situated on a 33-acre site in southeast Ocala.
The applicant, Tillman & Associates Engineering, LLC, representing property owner Heather Island, LLC, is seeking a zoning change from Single-Family Dwelling (R-1) to Planned Unit Development (PUD) for a large portion of the land, and a small-scale land use change for a 0.74-acre portion of the site from public to high residential.
