HUDSONVILLE, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Mar. 11, 2026) – Once again, the main highway between Zeeland and Hudsonville had to be closed due to a weather-related incident.
Around 9:15 on Tuesday night, first responders were dispatched to eastbound I-196, just before the 32nd Avenue exit, on a report of a semi that was in the ditch. When they arrived, they found a 57-year-old Muskegon man, apparently unhurt, standing outside of his fallen rig.
The unnamed trucker told authorities that he was pulling an empty trailer when heavy winds pushed the trailer, causing it and the cab to veer into the ditch. No other vehicles were apparently involved…
