San Ramon real estate deal helps housing development make progress

SAN RAMON — Plans for a housing development in the Bishop Ranch neighborhood in San Ramon are progressing following a real estate firm’s purchase of the land needed for the project.

Van Daele Homes, acting through an affiliate, bought the site of a Bishop Ranch office building for $11.1 million, according to documents filed on Jan. 2 with the Contra Costa County Recorder’s Office. Van Daele Homes obtained a $10.3 million loan from Comerica Bank at the time of the transaction.

An affiliate of Sunset Development sold the property, county documents show.
