HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — Mylar balloons on a distribution line knocked out power early Thursday morning to more than 4,000 Santee Cooper customers on the northern end of the Grand Strand, a utility spokesperson said.
The outage began just after 5:30 a.m., and service was restored just before 7 a.m., according to Santee Cooper’s website.
An outage map showed the issue stretching as far south as 43rd Ave. South in the Atlantic Beach area and as far north as the Belle Grove Plantation area. It also showed the outage stretched west of Highway 17 to the Intracoastal Waterway.
