Darrell Ricketts, the current District 11 representative on the Horry County Board of Education, has announced he is running for board chair.
District 11 consists of areas in Aynor, Conway and Green Sea Floyds. Ricketts was elected to the board in November 2024. He is a retired educator who worked with Horry County Schools for over 38 years as a teacher and an administrator. He had stints as the principal at Aynor High and and an assistant principal at Green Sea Floyds Middle and High.
