Fatal motorcycle crash temporarily shuts down Balboa Avenue in Kearny Mesa

SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A stretch of Balboa Avenue in Kearny Mesa was temporarily closed Thursday morning following a deadly crash involving a motorcycle and a truck, authorities said.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the 9400-9700 block of Balboa Avenue was shutdown between Interstate 15 and Ruffin Road while officers from the department’s Traffic Division investigated the collision. During that time, drivers were urged to use alternative routes.

The roadway has since reopened to motorists.
