SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) — A stretch of Balboa Avenue in Kearny Mesa was temporarily closed Thursday morning following a deadly crash involving a motorcycle and a truck, authorities said.
According to the San Diego Police Department, the 9400-9700 block of Balboa Avenue was shutdown between Interstate 15 and Ruffin Road while officers from the department’s Traffic Division investigated the collision. During that time, drivers were urged to use alternative routes.
The roadway has since reopened to motorists.
Police the the crash happened shortly before 6 a.m. when the driver of a white 2025 Chevrolet was traveling eastbound on Balboa Avenue and attempted to make a left turn downhill toward northbound Viewridge Avenue. The driver reportedly had a green traffic light signal…
