A 33-year-old woman was arrested early Tuesday (March 10) after allegedly starting a fire inside her apartment at the North Gardens complex in Syracuse. According to DeWitt Deputy Police Chief Andrew Fusco, emergency crews responded just after 4 a.m. following reports that Kawana Bates was setting items on fire in the hallway and her own residence.
When firefighters arrived, they found a fire burning in the kitchen of the second-floor apartment. DeWitt Fire Chief Jason Green said the blaze was extinguished in under two minutes, with damage limited to Bates’s apartment. No injuries were reported, and no other residents were displaced…
