Wilmington, North Carolina – Residents across southeast North Carolina could see strong thunderstorms develop late Thursday morning, bringing gusty winds and a sharp drop in temperatures as a cold front sweeps across the coastal Carolinas.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, the day will start unseasonably warm and breezy, but a cold front moving through the region will trigger gusty showers and thunderstorms late in the morning into early afternoon
