Women’s History Month spotlight: Meteorologist Melinda Mayo takes her final forecast bow

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KATV) — As Women’s History Month shines a spotlight on standout women in the community, one familiar face at Channel Seven is taking a well-earned bow.

Melinda Mayo, the station’s longtime meteorologist, is wrapping up her career and reflecting on a path that made history in Arkansas. She is the first female broadcast meteorologist in the state and also the longest-running morning personality.

“I was just stubborn,” Mayo said. “I couldn’t figure out, like, people are like, what else she could she do? I’m like, nothing. This is all I can do. So I just stayed and stayed.”…
