Minneapolis man charged with stalking, stealing dog of woman he met on dating app

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — A Minneapolis man is charged with stalking and stealing the dog of a woman he met on a dating app.

According to court documents, Akhil Miryala is charged with second-degree burglary and stalking after he was captured on security video stealing the dog of a woman he had gone on two dates with in February. Video also captured Miryala outside the woman’s Bloomington home multiple times, ringing her doorbell despite her telling him not to contact her anymore.

The woman told police that the two had gone on two dates in February after meeting on a dating app. After the second date, the woman told police she had told him she didn’t want to see him again. Prosecutors say he continued to try and reach out to her, providing police with screenshots of repeated unanswered texts and multiple missed calls.
