CYPRESS, Texas (CW39) — A man accused of planning a violent attack targeting Highway 290 in the Cypress area is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
Precinct Four deputies said they responded Tuesday morning to a home on Bronze Leaf Drive after receiving a report that Jeremiah Chavez was threatening to detonate explosive devices and carry out a mass shooting.
According to investigators, deputies discovered materials inside the home believed to be capable of producing so-called “dirty bombs,” along with ammunition and a rifle.
Authorities said the investigation remains active as bomb technicians and federal partners work to analyze the materials recovered from the residence.
