My young daughter was struck from behind by a Lime Bike rider at the Edgewood Rec Center today while she was scootering around the grounds. She’s okay with just some minor cuts and bruises (thank goodness for her helmet), but the rider rode off without checking on her, and

it feels like part of a broader pattern of e-bikes and scooters moving at full speed around rec centers while kids are playing. DC already has a geofenced slow zone framework for shared mobility devices around some parks and monuments, and it seems like rec centers should be covered too. Has anyone successfully advocated for something like this, or have advice on where to start?”…
