HONOLULU (Island News) – The man accused of allegedly murdering his girlfriend and attempting to murder his ex-girlfriend, has been indicted.
John Nihipali, 55, was indicted on Wednesday, following the incident that occurred on March 5, 2026, while Nihipali was on a work furlough pass and wearing an ankle monitor.
Nihipali was indicted for Attempted Murder in the First Degree, Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Murder in the Second Degree, Burglary in the First Degree, and Escape in the Second Degree.
If convicted, Nihipali faces a maximum sentence of life imprisonment without the possibility of parole for Attempted Murder in the First Degree, life imprisonment with the possibility of parole for Murder in the Second Degree and Attempted Murder in the Second degree, ten years imprisonment for Burglary in the First Degree, and five years imprisonment for Escape in the Second Degree…
