LATHAM, N.Y. (WNYT)- Major changes are coming to two Catholic schools in the Capital Region.
The Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany announced that starting in the 2026–27 school year, high school students from Catholic Central School in Latham will move to the campus of Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons School in Schenectady, effectively ending Catholic Central’s high school program.
According to diocesan leaders, the decision was largely driven by declining enrollment at Catholic Central. The school currently has just 22 students in grades 8 through 11, which officials say makes the program unsustainable…
