BARBERTON — Barberton City Council March 9 received an update from Hasenstab Architects and Higley Construction representatives on the city’s project to reconfigure the current municipal building at 576 W. Park Ave. as the new justice center and move the majority of the city’s departments to the former FirstMerit Bank building at 480 W. Tuscarawas Ave.
Prior to the presentation by architects Eric Beach and Regan Everhard, Mayor William Judge noted the municipal building, built in 1952, was determined to be obsolete by 1956.
