ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — Buncombe County’s property tax office expects more than 10,000 homeowners to challenge newly issued property values now arriving in mailboxes.
Some property owners report increases of more than $200,000 in assessed value. The values are meant to reflect market value as of January 1.
The new values don’t determine what a tax bill will be this year. Buncombe County Commissioners will set the rate later this year and will factor in the adjusted tax values…
