Buffalo, N.Y. (WBEN) – A Buffalo woman that was shot by a Buffalo police officer in September of 2025 has pled guilty to first-degree attempted assault.
Cynthia Gilbert, 38, was seen on police bodycam video acting belligerent and wielding a knife outside an apartment complex on Donovan Drive in the early morning hours of Sept. 27, 2025.
Officers responded to the apartment complex at around 2 a.m. and found Gilbert shouting at a group standing in an apartment building doorway. Gilbert repeatedly refused commands to drop the knife, and eventually attacked one of the people standing in the doorway, causing an injury…
